The Making of a Costa Sanding Machine

From lab testing to final commissioning, every Costa sanding machine is carefully engineered, built, and tested around your product and process—combining precision manufacturing, advanced technology, and support to deliver long‑term performance and reliability.

Where Everything Begins

Every Costa machine begins its journey in one of our laboratories—among the most advanced and comprehensive sanding machine testing facilities in the industry. This is where ideas take shape and performance is proven. Here, we process your samples under real production conditions, tuning results precisely to your expectations. You have the opportunity to evaluate finishes on your own product, ensuring complete confidence before moving forward. At this early stage, we also define the ideal machine configuration, tailored to your material, your volumes, and your manufacturing process.

Engineering

The project moves next to our engineering and design offices, where teams of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers take over. Every detail is thoughtfully designed: mechanical structures, electrical systems, programmable logic, and control software are all drafted with absolute precision. Nothing is left to chance—each decision is made to ensure reliability, performance, and long‑term value in real-world production.

Built at the Core

With engineering complete, the project advances into purchasing and production. Materials are carefully sourced, and critical components are manufactured in Costa’s own advanced fabrication shop. Here, skilled machinists and automated CNC centers machine frames and structural parts.

Assembly Takes Shape

Semi‑assemblies then move into one of our factories, where they meet the remaining components and the full mechanical assembly begins. In parallel, our electrical team prepares the electrical cabinet, completing wiring and assemblies strictly according to the electrical drawings. When mechanical assembly is complete, electrical installation follows—bringing structure and intelligence together into a single, cohesive system.

First Power On

Then comes a defining moment: power‑on. But the process does not stop there. Parameters are set, motion is refined, sensors are tuned, and control logic is finalized. The electronic and control systems complete the installation in preparation for live operation. When the abrasives go on and the first dust rises, the machine transitions from concept to reality.

Proven Before it Leaves

Every machine undergoes a full internal factory acceptance test. Our specialists validate every function, every movement, and every safety system against a rigorous checklist. Only after a complete internal sign‑off is the machine approved for delivery—fully tested, fully documented, and fully ready.

A Journey to Your Factory

Your machine is then carefully disassembled as required, wrapped, protected, and prepared for transport. Whether shipped by truck, by sea container, or in specialized crates, your Costa machine embarks on the longest journey of its life—to your factory floor, where it will perform day after day for many years to come.

Beyond Delivery

Our commitment does not end at delivery. Our worldwide service team will visit your facility to commission the equipment, train your operators, and support your maintenance personnel. From startup to long‑term operation, we remain by your side—ensuring performance, reliability, and peace of mind.
